Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva says he is ready to personally call U.S. President Donald Trump again if trade and diplomatic negotiations between the two nations fail to progress after COP30, the UN climate summit hosted in Brazil this month.<br /><br />Lula confirmed that Brazil’s vice president and finance minister are prepared to travel to Washington to continue talks, urging the U.S. to lift sanctions on Brazilian Supreme Court justices and remove tariffs imposed earlier this year.<br /><br />Lula also said Trump “doesn’t believe in a green economy,” but added that he believes Trump — and all world leaders — will eventually realize the urgency of environmental change.
